In-home Euthanasia

Sometimes we need to make the hard decision that our pet’s quality of life has dwindled, and their suffering shouldn’t continue. You can choose to have the procedure done in your home, our facility or at a veterinary clinic.

Having your pet euthanized at home allows them to be where they are most comfortable, surrounded by those who love them most. The doctor will come to your home, and will answer any questions before the procedure begins. The appointment takes approximately 30-60 minutes. After the procedure is over, the doctor will provide a clay paw print before taking your pet with him, if you have chosen to have your pet cremated. To learn more about cremation, please click here. If you do not opt for cremation, the doctor will leave your pet's remains in your care. You may also choose to have the procedure done at our facility, in The Rainbow Room for an additional $50. 

The doctor will need assistance lifting all pets 35lbs and over. There may be additional charges for mileage. Appointments need to be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Payment must be made in full via cash or credit card before the appointment. There is a $350 same day cancellation fee. People often ask how I became a veterinarian. I was born in Iowa and lived on a farm most of my young life where I learned to love and appreciate animals. After high school and four years in the Navy, my dream of becoming a veterinarian became a reality in 1983. I became a certified animal acupuncturist in 1998 to add a more natural healing to my service. Starting out with mixed animal practice (I own my own practice), I transitioned to mostly pet animals. In house euthanasia best provides an excellent avenue for the beloved pets and animals that deserve a pain, stress, anxiety free and dignified passing. Every effort is made to provide the compassion and comfort an in home euthanasia provides. Whispering Willow shares this philosophy and I am proud and happy to be part of their service.
